The Wilanów Palace was the summer residence of The King Jan III Sobieski — a place where the monarch rested, spent time with his family, pursued his scientific and horticultural interests, and engaged in both political and intellectual discussions.

In 1805, Stanisław Kostka Potocki opened the palace interiors to the public, presenting an exceptional collection of European and Far Eastern artworks, as well as priceless artifacts connected with the history of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Sobieski family.

Today, the Wilanów Palace stands as one of Poland’s most treasured monuments, often referred to as the “Polish Versailles.” Surrounded by magnificent baroque gardens and an extensive palace park, it offers visitors an inspiring encounter with art, history, architecture, and nature—a place to discover, admire, learn, and experience the cultural heritage of Poland.
